Overview

Batura Trek, in the region around Passu (2543m) offers some of the best, new, and most thrilling adventure walking in the entire Northern Areas.

From half and full-day trips to short, multi-day walks right up to long, strenuous treks, and all within easy reach of the KKH. On hot days come and stand here and appreciate the ice drafts off the glacier. Batura Glacier, stretches some 58 kilometers from the Batura Muztagh groups of peaks to the west, right down to the KKH. It provides breathtaking views of high peaks like Ultar (7388m) Shishpare (7611m), Passu peak (7284m), and other peaks in the Shimshal region. Most parts of this trek are easy with wildflowers. One of the great impressions of this trek is spending time with local Wakhi people especially women with their cattle. They will serve you yogurt, butter, and milk.
